During Hero setup, you will be provided with a list of app notifications you will receive as a Primary Caregiver. These particular notifications are enabled (and cannot be turned off) for safety purposes. We are committed to supporting our members’ health, and as part of that commitment, to notify you of key events that require your attention (such as: Missed doses, medication running out, Hero device door opened, etc).
In User Preferences, you can configure how your loved one receives Missed dose reminders: by default, the primary user will receive alerts (visual and audible) on the Hero smart dispenser when it’s time to take their medications. If you would like to accompany those alerts with phone reminders when the Primary User misses their dose (e.g. via mobile app notification, a text message or a phone call), choose Yes, add phone reminders.
Phone reminders are available in three forms:
- Hero app - the primary user will be invited via email to download and create their own account to use the Hero app. Confirm their email address and tap Send Invite to invite them.
- Text message - the primary user will be invited via a text message containing a code to verify their number. Enter their phone number and tap the Confirm button to continue. A text message will be sent to their phone, enter the confirmation code in the field and tap the Done button.
- Phone call - the primary user will be invited via a phone call containing a code to verify their number. Enter their phone number and tap the Confirm button. A phone call will be placed to their phone, enter the confirmation code that you hear in the field and tap the Done button.
