How do I set up phone reminders?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You will automatically get missed doses app notifications 15 minutes after scheduled time (if not taken) / immediately when skipped. Notifications apply to meds that are stored inside of Hero, and do not apply to meds that are stored outside of Hero.

In addition to app notifications, you can set up phone reminders for missed doses - either a phone call or an SMS.

Notifications for missed doses can be configured by the primary user or caregivers in the app. This provides flexibility for optimizing medication management.

If you’d like additional reminders, you can enable phone call or SMS notifications for when you are more than 15 minutes late taking a dose (pls. note that you have to be the account admin, either in primary user or caregiver role).

To set up phone or SMS reminders:

  1. Open the Hero app and go to More > Settings & Notifications > App Notifications.

  2. Choose additional reminders:

    1. Phone call

    2. SMS

    3. None

  3. If selecting Phone call or SMS, verify your phone number by entering the code sent via text or call.

To troubleshoot notification issues, ensure that: the notification settings are correctly saved in the app, phone numbers are verified, SMS messages are being delivered, and the Hero device is connected to the internet. Caregivers should ensure they are added as teammates in the Hero app to receive notifications. For SMS notifications, verify each phone number by entering the code provided via text. Admin caregivers can switch between users in the app to manage different accounts effectively.
