If you are planning on taking a trip and need to manage your medication while you're away, here are step-by step instructions.
Step 1: Select "More" in the app and then select "Traveling/Away from Home". This will activate Vacation Mode.
You'll have the option to pre-dispense your medication for the upcoming trip, which you can then store in their original pharmacy-provided packaging for travel.
Keep in mind that laws regarding the possession and transportation of unlabeled prescription medication may vary, so it's always a good idea to double-check local regulations.
Once you've entered your vacation details, the Hero app will still send you reminders when it's time for your dose while you're traveling.
Step 2: Select "Start" and follow the prompts to set your vacation dates and retrieve any necessary medication.
If you need to retrieve medication later, you can do so by navigating to Dispense > Vacation mode on Hero.
Step 3: To retrieve your medication, follow the instructions on the smart dispenser.
The Hero dispenser will list your first medication and prompt you to remove a specific number of pills.
After removing the pills, reinsert the cartridge and make sure it's securely and properly placed by pushing the bottom tab all the way in until you hear a click sound.
Then, close the door and repeat the process for any additional medications you need to take.
