With Hero, you can dispense any medication outside of its regular schedule—either from the smart dispenser, or remotely from the Hero app—just make sure "As-needed dispense" is enabled for that medication in the Meds tab in the Hero app.
To dispense an as-needed/PRN medication:
Enable As-needed dispense:
Open the Hero app, go to the "Meds" menu, select the medication, scroll down to "As-needed dispense," and allow the med to be dispensed as-needed outside of scheduled time. Next, set maximum number of as-needed pills that should be dispensed in a day.
Dispense from the Hero smart dispenser:
Go to the Main menu on your Hero smart dispenser, press "Dispense," select "As-Needed Med", then choose the medication, and specify the number of pills you need.
Dispense from the Hero app:
Go to the Meds menu in the Hero app, and select the medication you want to dispense remotely. Scroll down to "As-needed dispense", and swipe right to dispense. Please note you need to be the admin to remotely dispense.
