You can dispense remotely with the Hero app or even help a loved one dispense a dose when you’re away from them with the slide to dispense feature. See the video of how this feature works here:
Can’t find the remote dispensing feature? This is because the feature is only available to Admins. Unless you are an admin, remote dispensing, or the slide to dispense feature will be available 30 minutes prior to a scheduled dose.
How to use the slide to dispense feature:
Enable the feature in the Hero app.
Once you slide to dispense, the app will show real-time progress as each pill is dispensed. The smart dispenser will also show progress and alert you when your dose is ready to take.
Just like a normal dispense, all of your settings will still apply, including the “Dispense passcode” feature. If this feature is turned ON, your passcode will be requested on the app before dispensing the medication remotely.
Note: this feature only applies to scheduled doses that are stored inside Hero. Further support for other dose types (eg. hybrid, outside, on-demand) will be added in the future.
