Transporting Hero is a 3-step process: remove medications → insert travel bar → reverse on arrival.
Before You Begin
Have these ready:
Original pharmacy-provided packaging for each medication
The travel bar (L-shaped metal bar stored in the back of Hero)
Step 1 — Remove Medications
On Hero, go to Device Settings > Transport Hero
When asked "Do you need to remove pills or just install travel bar?"
Select "Remove pills" if medication is still in the device
Select "Just install travel bar" if you've already removed them
For each cartridge:
When the door opens, remove the cartridge and place medication in its original pharmacy packaging
Reinsert the empty cartridge and push the bottom tab until you hear a click
Close the door and repeat until all cartridges are empty
Step 2 — Insert the Travel Bar
On the back of Hero, remove the lock compartment cover
Insert the long end of the travel bar into the hole
Replace the cover
On Hero, select Done — Hero will confirm the bar is correctly installed
Unplug Hero
Hero will not send notifications or allow account changes while unplugged.
Step 3 — On Arrival, Reverse the Process
Plug Hero back in and select Get Started
Remove the lock compartment cover, pull out the travel bar, replace the cover
Select Done, then Okay
Hero will guide you through reloading medications into the correct cartridges
Packing tip: Use Hero's original packaging with foam inserts, or bubble wrap if unavailable, to protect the device during transport.
